Introducing SAE

Société Auxiliaire Entreprises is a company based in St Benoit La Forêt, in Indre et Loire, about 30 Km from Tours. The company designs, manufactures, commercializes and provides after-sales service for cold mixing plants, mobile or super-mobile, as well as fixed plants and earth processing units. SAE, with its production area of about 5,000 m2 and extensive offices, has about 50 staff and earns annual turnover about 9 million euros.

SAE is part of the Road Building Equipment division of the FAYAT Group, which it joined in 1998, a highly diversified intenational group attaining 915 million euros annual turnover. Since 2002, the Company AES, based in Cesson (77) merged with SAE, and a new entity named FAMATEC was created.

SAE and its history

SAE is at origin of stabilization techniques in France and has made a strong contribution to development of the method on international markets.The company, founded in 1955 in the Paris area, has always manufactured materials for public works.

The first road base stabilization plant was constructed in 1930, and for 25 years SAE developped and commercialized the materials required for rendering the French  road network resistant to frost, including the motorway network.

The company originated :         

 horizontal mixers, output 100 to 1,500 t/h,
 regulation and measured feed of water based binders : cement, lime, blast-furnace slag, fly ashs,                               
 the concept of mobility, with plant such as SAM type in 1976,
 super-moblity, with the development of the Euroline series in 1994 and the Greenline models.


The plants for the continuous production of road concrete in 1971, was the most technically advanced ans was known the world over.     
For the last ten years or so, hydrocarbon-based binders, such as bitumen emulsions, cold binders and bitumen foams have occupied a dominant position. 

In 2000, the company was awarded the silver medal for innovation for its ROADLINER 150, at the INTERMAT fair.
